Position Overview

Daily Harvest is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. Daily Harvest’s Accounting team crafts timely and accurate financial reporting to drive internal decision-making and provide key external stakeholders with information on business performance. We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to play an integral role on our Accounting team.

In this role, you will be critical in contributing to the timely completion of accounting functions including our monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements. We are looking for someone who possesses strong organizational skills with a passion for details. This role is best for someone who wants to feel connected to the core of the business, Inventory & amp; COGS. As we are a startup, this position requires someone who is highly adaptable and comfortable with plenty of change.

What you’ll do:

• Work to ensure a smooth, accurate flow of inventory and related transactions
• Ensure proper valuation of inventory and cost of goods sold
• Analyze inventory and COGS to prepare various month/year-end reporting
• Prepare various balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining all relevant support in audit-ready
  fashion
• Prepare monthly Journal Entries related to COGS / Inventory
• Assist in external audits including preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries
• Implement process improvements and find efficiencies wherever possible
• Answer accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data
• Additional ad-hoc finance and accounting projects, as necessary

Who you are:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
• High Proficiency in MS Excel is required
• Demonstrate a firm understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
• 1-3 years experience in E-commerce/retail industry is preferred
• Public Accounting experience is a plus
• CPA is a plus
• Excellent cross-team collaboration
• Ability to manage documentation and input data accurately, with great attention to detail
• Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Able to operate with a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines is critical
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $58,500 - $74,625. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
