We’re looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to focus on our web interface (React) and help develop the tooling and infrastructure to enable us to deploy our code confidently as we expand our product offerings. Our diverse Engineering team are highly collaborative individuals, who embrace rapid change, take action, accountability and ownership, provide technical guidance, and have a high bar for launching and iterating quality code and features quickly in an agile environment.
Our tech stack on the frontend uses the latest web standards in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, and technologies such as React, Typescript, Storybook, React-Query, Contentful, Jest, and Next.js. On the backend we are primarily a Java shop hosted on Google Cloud. Our services are using Docker/Kubernetes and communicate via OpenAPI standards.

As a Staff Engineer at Ritual you will…

  • Discover and solve complex technical problems that have company-wide impact
  • Deliver clean and effective code and work to continuously improve our codebase
  • Contribute to the technical strategy and direction for broad or complex requirements
  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders including Ops, Growth, Design and other Engineering peers
  • Be passionate about product craftsmanship and care about great design
  • Review code and receive feedback with an open mindInvestigate product defects and deliver iterative product improvements quickly Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer that has…

  • Significant professional experience with React and Javascript
  • 8+ years of experience delivering high quality software
  • Experience with backend Java and/or Node development is a bonus
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills - can explain complex technical concepts to cross functional stakeholders and engineers across all levels
